Anatomy Physical Therapy Project

Anatomy is extremely complicated, while at the same time quite interesting. However, from day one I knew I wasn't the best student in Anatomy. My physical therapy project helped me learn that if I put in the effort, then I can really start to learn about even the most complex of things - in fact it even becomes simple. There was no avoiding comparing it to every day life as anatomy is one of the most basic things that shape us, and it was lots of fun to talk about with a professional dancer!

American Conflict Memorial Piece

I got a very varied grade on this assignment. I did literally as well as I could on the historical context about the Memorial, a straight ten. However, I did more or less on describing the memorial, why the creator chose the materials, etc. Later on I made a much more balanced piece, not about the African Burial Ground, but about an Irish memorial and thought it out more, spent more time on all of the components, etc, and it was reflected in my grade.

My Grapes of Wrath Essay was completed in two or three hours at most. I took this assignment very seriously and completed it on the same day it was assigned. This led to me helping other people edit theirs or editing my own for the whole week we had to write it. It is easily one of my best pieces from all four years here, and didn't get any grade lower than a 9, even though I scarcely edited it. It made me happy to see me get that grade on a writing assignment before moving on to college, it gives me renewed confidence in my writing skills. Though I may not be too great at art, or math, and even some sciences, I know I can always count on my writing skills.

American Capitalism Grapes of Wrath Essay

My plan for the future has been well thought out. Now that I will be graduating (finally) from Frank McCourt High School, I am moving on to Hunter College. There, I will focus my studies on Political Science for the next four years. After that, I intend to go to law school, preferably a cheap one, in order to become a lawyer. Which type of lawyer will I become? I'm not sure yet, I'll find out if I go to law school. Of course I am still open to other career paths as well. As long as it's something I enjoy doing and has sufficient enough profits, then I consider it. Other than that, I will need to get a job quick to pay off all of the absurd loans and other debts from college.

There aren't many things I can say I learned from FMHS looking back, other than to grit my teeth and just keep going, since I knew there would be a light at the end of the tunnel. FMHS did help prepare us for most tests well enough not to fail at least (though from now on the school won't be as test based). While at the same time we were made to take practically an entire semester's worth of unnecessary credits (not to mention the absurd 80 hours of community service that you don't technically need in order to graduate). This does help people who fail certain classes, but end of the day those students generally aren't going to pass the class later on during intersession or during the regular school year (i.e. they don't have the will to learn). All in all, it's not the worst school, but certainly not the best (especially the grading system that even teachers at times have trouble understanding or pretend to understand).

What have I improved on over the years? Phoning things in. I can come up with tons of things on the fly, most of which seem, and most probably were needless. I also improved on my group work, as collaboration is a major factor in FMHS. Dealing with people you don't care for is most assuredly something everyone must learn in life at some point, so that was definitely a good thing to improve on before heading off to college.
